this topic has popped up in a couple of conversations i have had lately. being trained by your master vs being trained by someone else for your master. or put another way, training your own slave vs having someone else train her for you. or training someone else's slave. thoughts?

i'm a gay submissive, but i think the principle is the same SIR. in my experience it depends on the relationship between You and Your slave SIR. Whoever trains the slave will build an emotional connection between the Master and the slave. This can be a very, very deep bond that can have a profound impact on the slave.
If You are the type of Master who wants to have a little bit of emotional distance between You and Your property, then it might be better to have someone else train the slave. It avoids building up that particular special kind of emotional connection between You and the slave, and also reinforces the slave's feelings of being property to be handed around without his or her consent.
On the other hand, if You are the kind of Master who wants Your slave to also be your life partner, sharing a love relationship with You... then having someone else train the slave might create an emotional conflict where the slave is with You, but feels drawn to the trainer. In this kind of situation, the slave might actually develop feelings of love for the trainer and be unable to submit successfully to You.

My opinion is that it all depends on what you want and what will work for your dynamic. What works for one Master and slave certainly doesn't work for the next--heck, even a Master with two slaves may have differences based on needs, personalities and such.
I've always thought sending a slave off to be trained was a very romantic notion but it seems like a more solid bond would form if you did the work yourself. It seems like having a devoted slave versus a robot would be what you could possibly end up with.

Wed, October 28, 2009 - 6:06 AMI'm a gay slave and have been in a relationship with Master for 8 months. We are in a long distance relationship which sees me living with Him for several weeks or a month at a time and He staying with me for the same period of time. Our jobs make it this way but I retire soon at which point, I hope to relocate to be His permanent, 24/7/365 when practical. During my training phase I gradually came to admire Sir and as time went on, fell in love with Him very deeply. Now I cannot live without Him! I would give my life for Him, my bond being that deep. That said, while Master loves me too, it is less of an emotional thing with Him....more a love for His slave. This may prove to be problematic for me as I have a difficult time emotionally when I am away from Him. He is my everything.
